The North Region

Mainly compromising the regions of Tarapaca and Antofagasta this part of Chile is full of contrasts. In this region you can experience the dryness of the Atacama Desert, the sootthing air of the Azapa Valley or the coolness of the Pica Oasis.

The region is known FOR it´s wide biological variety of flora and fauna and is home to Chuquicamata; the biggest mineral pit in the world.

The Small North Region

Moving away FROM the arid dessert of Atacama and into a more Mediterranean feel in the valleys of Coquimbo, this region has a milder climate. The area is well respected for its quality white sand beaches and is home to the highest active volcano in the world: the Nevado ojos del Salado.
